Lady Debra A. McCarthy
Our light is to shine everywhere we go. If we represent Christ, we are to demonstrate this in our love in our actions, words, and deeds.

The fourth daughter born to Julius and Nell O’Neil, Debra Anita McCarthy has always been a loving and gifted person. Being raised in the church, Debra developed a sincere love for Christ and the work of the ministry at an early age. One of her first scriptures memorized was John 15:7: “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” which was painted on the back wall of the church she attended in her youth.
Knowing that God’s ear is open to her, Debra has maintained a close relationship with Him. She recognizes that God is all-seeing and all-knowing and our very walk with God is known and read of all men. How we carry ourselves in word and deed is looked upon by everyone we come in contact with.
As a result of this, Debra has formed a women’s fellowship entitled “Ladies Of Righteous Distinction” (L.O.R.D.) This fellowship stresses the importance of women being able to carry themselves in a manner pleasing to the sight of the Lord and according to His word! Maintaining a humble spirit and a repenting heart is also characteristic of a righteous woman. And most of all in her walk with the Lord; she is an example of Love. The bible says God is Love!
Debra has developed church retreats which was open to a various denominations; women retreats which fulfilled the scripture Mark 6:31 “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place and rest awhile”. Women come together to fellowship, rest, and be revived.
Debra has also organized a monthly Women’s Fellowship where women of the church are able to come together every 5th Saturday to discuss issues of importance to women and to bring a bond to the body of women in the church and community alike.
The Women’s Fellowship meetings have also opened the doors to include the women of the community.
As we come together with the community, it is up to us to draw them in with loving kindness, not to point a finger. People are drawn through love and kindness. That is a strong need in community/church relationships.
Enjoying the ministry of outreach, she served as the Director of the Home & Foreign Mission Food Pantry which served over 500 families a month for over 10 years. During the outreach service, you can find Debra engaging the clients of the community in worship songs and providing encouraging words to many who patronize the Gethsemane Food Pantry.
Lady Debra has also been blessed with the opportunity to minister over the air. Along with her husband she served as Co-Host for a weekly talk show for Tri-State Christian Television (TCT), Marion, IL entitled Tri-State Alive which aired across 38 states. This show brought in a host of people with a desire to spread to others how God has moved in their lives.
Debra was the Co-Producer and Co-Host, with her husband, Pastor Dion A. McCarthy, for their religious radio program entitled “Visions” airing on radio station 92.3 FM WYCA, Hammond, Indiana/Chicago, Illinois. The opening of this program expressed the sentiments of many….
“People are tired, of playing games, walking in the dark, the wrong answers to the right questions, the right answers but the wrong results. . . Life is too short for going in circles.
Pray along with her that God continues to make every crooked place in your life straight!
