FALL INTO THE G.A.P.
We are a culture that LOVE shopping! We love to look good. We will go out of our way to find bargains or get the most for our money. We will spend all day going from store to store searching for the right outfit. We fall into one store after the other….. In search of …… What to wear ….. To ... whatever occasion.....
In order for us to look acceptable to the crowd we hang around with, or for our place of employment, we will shop around for hours on end, to match up our garments, which we meticulously purchased, with the perfect accessories and shoes that would make our outfit sizzle!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were that determined or that committed or that focused in our walk with the Lord? Do we put that much effort in pleasing God?
Matthew 6:25 starts off by telling us to Take no thought for your life …………. what ye shall put on. The scriptures goes on to tell us that if God so clothe the grass of the field……..shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Then in the 33rd verse it says…. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”. What exactly are you seeking? Are you seeking Compliments (exaltation, praise), Approval, Love, or Acceptance? God offers you all of that!
John 12:43 confirms this: For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Every day we are living epistles (letters or written communication) as written in 2 Corinthians 3:2: Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men. Has your life brought about a change in the hearts of those you’ve come in contact with? Are you witnessing to others about the goodness of the Lord? Are you bringing others to Christ? Have you REALLY looked into the mirror? Have you looked past your natural looks and into your heart? What does your heart look like?
There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good. Let’s first consider our walk with God! How much time are we dedicating to Him? How meticulous are we in letting our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works, and glorify our Father which is in heaven? Are we doing the will of God? Are we conformed or transformed? Take a moment right now to renew you mind…….
Next time you go shopping…….. Fall Into The G.A.P. …….. The Good And Perfect will of God. This is your reasonable service.
